Why I Keep My Poshmark Private
I am frequently asked for the link to my Poshmark closet. Some followers would like to shop my closet and others would like to reference it to compare to their own closet. I keep my Poshmark account private and thought it would be helpful to explain in a little bit more detail why I choose to do so.
1) I firmly believe that most people can be successful on Poshmark. If I shared my account, it may be easy to assume that I have success on Poshmark because I have a larger audience. I never want anyone to feel like they cannot be successful if they do not have a social media following. If I keep my account private, it evens the playing field.
2) I often share anecdotes of selling on Poshmark, including low ball offers and various buyer comments. I share these examples anonymously, but I would never want to inadvertently offend a T&T follower.
3) I sometimes block really unreasonable buyers on Poshmark…same concern as #2.
4) On rare occasion, I will have issues with a Poshmark sale. In the many years I have sold on the account, I have had a handful of claims opened because the seller stated the item was not as depicted. I’ve won all of these claims (p.s. this is why taking good photos, being straightforward, and including thorough descriptions helps!), but I would never want to have a dispute of any kind, no matter how minor, with a T&T follower.
I know many people are interested in seeing my Poshmark closet to mimic my photos, pricing etc., so I understand that it may be frustrating that I don’t share it publicly. The good news is that I include every single last piece of my Poshmark strategy for free in my selling guides. Happy Selling!
