T&T Sephora Sale Picks

Can someone tell me why makeup is almost always excluded from department store sales? I will never understand.

Fortunately, Sephora’s sale is upon us. Starting today (April 26th until May 1st) Rouge Sephora members will get 20% off their purchases with the code HEYROUGE. If you’re not a Rouge member, hang tight because there will be more Sephora sales coming up. (You can use this time to do your research!)

If you’re buying your makeup at regular department stores, I encourage you to switch. Full disclosure: for years I was a huge Sephora hater. I didn’t (and still don’t) like that they don’t have people willing and ready to put makeup on you. (I find it helpful to a bi-annual make up session with a professional to get new ideas.) That being said, I started buying my makeup at Sephora a few years ago because they have sales, points, and, most importantly, an amazing return policy. If you try something and don’t love it, you can return it. As long as it is less than half way used, they will take it back. I’ve only done it once with a skincare product, but I like having the piece of mind that if something doesn’t work out, it can go back. It makes me more comfortable taking a risk and trying something new.

Regardless of how much makeup you buy a year, I would encourage you to sign up for their rewards program. It is free and you’d be surprised how little things can add up. (One friend shares her points with her mom to get discounts faster.) Sign up here.

In honor of the sale, below are my favorite Sephora products, as well as a few that I am getting ready to try. Enjoy.

Skincare

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench- This is the most hydrating face lotion.

Sunday Riley Good Genes- I love this and swear it’s changed my skin.

Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum  - I use this every night. It is light and helps my skin overnight.
Sunday Riley Vitamin C Serum- I use this to treat dark sun spots.

Dior Matte Maximizer Age-Delay Mattifying Serum- I love this serum.

Fragrance

Dolce Gabanna Light Blue- I’ve worn this since I was in high school. When my friends hug me, they say “you smell like you!”

Bobbi Brown Beach- smells like summer and heaven.

Makeup

Dior Plumping Gloss- Will your lips look like a Kardashian after putting this on? No, but who would want that anyway!?

Laura Mercier Radiance Primer- put this on before you put on your makeup, and you will have a nice subtle glow. It has a cult following and for good reason.

They’re Real Mascara- This is the only mascara I have found that does NOT fall down my face and leave me looking like a raccoon by the end of a work day.

Super Fine Eyeliner- I like this eyeliner because it works like a pen. I find many liquid liners to be too hard to control and pencils don’t work unless you sharpen them after each use.

Bronzer- I SWEAR BY THIS BRONZER- I have used it for maybe 10 years. I like that there is no shimmer and it goes on smoothly. I wear color 2.

Laura Mercier Gloss- I am very picky with lip gloss. If it is smelly, sticky, or tastes funky, I cannot use it. I have this in various colors.

Nars Lip Gloss- Another favorite. My only issue is not losing them!

Hair

Klorane Dry Shampoo- Smells good and works.

Living Proof Dry Shampoo- This is my go-to when I end work and need to be at dinner in 30 minutes. It does leave your hair a little white, but you just need to brush and rub it in a little. It gives my hair a little body too which I appreciate.

In My Cart

Dyson Hair Dryer- Insane I know… But I am intrigued and have friends who swear by it.

DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel- I love Shani Darden and she swears by these.

Potent-C™ Vitamin C Power Serum - Peter Thomas Roth- I really like Peter Thomas Roth’s products, so I want to try this Vitamin C next.

SuperGoop Glow Stick Sunscreen SPF 50 - Once I realized SuperGoop had nothing to do with Gwyneth, I knew it was time to invest.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion- I have heard this is magic for blemishes.

Summer Fridays- I recently listened to an interview with founder Marianna Hewitt. She is a hustler and I love supporting women that are pursuing their passions. It also is highly recommended.

Mario Badescu Vitamin C- I love Vitamin C and forced my sister to buy this. She now loves it, so I want to try it.

Ouai Dry Shampoo- I have tried this in store and really like it.

beautyblender - I have always wanted to try a beauty blender, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Now may be the time.

BAREPRO Core Coverage Brush- My brushes have seen better days, so it’s time to invest.
